Colliers Canada – Search for Properties by Map
The award winning website developed for Colliers Canada has recently been further enhanced to display property search results by map.
When the user arrives on the “Find a Property” page, all Colliers Canada Sale or Lease listings are displayed on a map of Canada. Close to 2,000 property listings are represented on the map by icons showing the properties geographically. Users can click on a cluster to zoom in to the geographic area and see individual listings in the city or market they are interested in.
Users can refine their geographic search by using the right hand side “Refine Search” tool to filter by Property Type, Price range, Available areas or Keywords.
The key features of the map view are the various optimisations used to display 2,000 live listings almost instantly. These optimisations employee clustering techniques which groups nearby markers into a single numbered cluster. This eliminates the time consuming task of rendering 2000 map markers. The other property details are then loaded on demand when the user clicks on a marker.
Other features Include:
- There is a “Copy Map URL” feature that allows users to share the search results in map view
- The “Enlarge” button switches the map to full screen view for broker presentations
- The new map view is available for individual broker listings so they are able to show all their current listings on a map
