FITEC Woodcareers
FITEC is the industry training organisation (ITO) for the forest industries and in January 2009 they launched www.woodcareers.org.nz which is a resource for anybody interested in a career in forestry.The website has targeted information for Students, Parents, Teachers and Foresty Companies. Students and parents can watch video stories of other young people’s experiences in the forestry workplace to get an insight into different careers within the sectors of the wood industry. The Careers and Career Paths section has detailed information on how to enter the forestry sector from school, polytech, university or from another job.
Forestry companies can post their job vacancies in the Jobs in Wood area for job seekers to browse and apply online. In this way FITEC is facilitating the matching of skills to industry vacancies.
